National deaf chess championship

National deaf chess championship is being held at Mysore. Punjab team is lead by Gurpreet Kaur of Patiala school for deaf. Total of 12 participants are taking part of which 7 are from Patiala school for deaf. Our students are not that proficient in chess, but will certainly gain confidence for future participation. Heartiest congratulations. Punjab team girls stood second in all India chess championships for deaf, held at Mysore.

This is the first time ever that Punjab has secured this position. Our efforts in this direction are also paying. The boys gained lot of experience, but didn’t do very well.
